Getafe have exercised their option to buy Real Madrid midfielder Mario Martín after his season on loan.

The club said in a statement that he will stay for the next four seasons, until 30 June 2030, after paying three and a half million euros to complete the purchase of 50% of his rights.

Martín arrived last summer on loan and established himself as an important part of José Bordalás’s team, impressing with commitment, personality and quality. His impact has convinced the club to keep him.

The under-21 international’s market value has risen to 10 million euros. He played 37 matches across LaLiga EA Sports and the Copa del Rey this season, scoring four goals and providing two assists.

The 22-year-old midfielder now has 67 Primera Division appearances.
