A member of the attacking ranks at La Liga outfit Getafe has emerged as a summer transfer target in Mexico’s Liga MX.

That’s according to transfer insider Matteo Moretto, who points towards Borja Mayoral as the player in question.

Frontman Mayoral is for his part fresh off a solid-if-unspectacular campaign on the books of the aforementioned Getafe.

All told, in 26 appearances across all competitions, the majority of them off the bench, the 28-year-old managed to find the net a respectable six times.

This was some way down on his 15-goal mark in La Liga in 2023/24, though, giving rise to speculation that a departure from Madrid could be on the cards for Mayoral this summer.

And as alluded to above, if the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, then one club already appear to be sniffing around the Spaniard’s signature.

As per a report from journalist Matteo Moretto:

‘CF Monterrey has inquired about Borja Mayoral, who is likely to leave Getafe.’

In the case of Mayoral ultimately making the move to the Liga MX, he will join a string of former La Liga stars at Monterrey, with the likes of Sergio Ramos, Sergio Canales, Lucas Ocampos and Óliver Torres all currently plying their trade at the Estadio BBVA.
