Valencia claimed a crucial win at the Coliseum, built on a disciplined defence and a superb finish from Gayà, who arrived from deep and dinked over David Soria.
According to Superdeporte, these are the player ratings from the Coliseum. Getafe posed little threat, which helped the visitors close it out.
Dimitrievski rated six, assured throughout apart from one uncertain advance. Tárrega five, off after a little over 30 minutes with a knee issue, extent to be determined. Copete six and a half, alert in duels and led the back line.
Gayà seven, decisive at both ends and the matchwinner. Pepelu six, 35 minutes in midfield then 65 at centre-back, positioning and tactical intelligence impressed.
Ugrinic seven, standout in midfield, raised the tempo, covered ground and supplied the assist. Rioja five, short of his best and struggled to influence.
Danjuma five and a half, willing but rarely beat his marker, one move led to Djené hitting the bar, form still below par. Beltrán five, tireless yet created little. Hugo Duro five, barely involved but no shortage of graft.
Substitutes, Santamaría five, steady after replacing Tárrega. Diego López five, persistence without end product. Sadiq five, eager but the pass looked the better call in a couple of moments. Iranzo and Javi Guerra not graded, introduced on 87 minutes to add freshness and kill time.
