La Liga is not over just yet, and FC Barcelona must overcome a few more hurdles before they can finally claim their ownership of a potential title. However, the next challenge for them in the league arrives in the form of Getafe, and this will be no easy obstacle to overcome.
Away from home for this particular fixture, the Catalan giants will also be without some key players due to injuries and suspensions. Still, Hansi Flick will be expected to deliver a positive result here to improve Barça’s lead at the top following Real Madrid’s draw against Real Betis in their recent encounter.

Focusing on the game in hand, Getafe and Barça will be locking horns for the second time this season. In their first encounter back in September of last year, the Catalan giants managed to decimate this team at home.
A 3-0 victory for Barcelona at the time, things have seemingly changed a lot since then. Heading into this particular game, Getafe will likely pose a much bigger threat than they would likely have at any other point during this season.
After all, Jose Bordalas has led his team well in recent games and they are currently sitting in sixth place in the league after overtaking Celta Vigo, with the latter having just recently lost to Barça. Moreover, their recent run of form has been solid as well.
With three wins and two defeats in their last five games, Getafe are a team to be taken seriously. Moreover, it has not been long since they managed to beat Real Madrid in La Liga as well, and that too in the Santiago Bernabeu no less.
As for their recent goal difference, they have scored five goals in their last five games and have conceded just three goals in return. So while they may not be the most offensively gifted team in the league, they are certainly incredibly difficult to score against as well.
Barcelona, on the other hand, have been on a great run in La Liga as well. Across their last five games, they have four wins and just one defeat in the UEFA Champions League. However, in La Liga specifically, the last time they dropped points was in early February against Girona.
When it comes to their goal difference recently, they have scored 9 goals in their last five games while having conceded five goals in return. However, it is worth noting that they will be without the likes of Lamine Yamal, Raphinha, and Marc Bernal for this game.
Moreover, even Eric Garcia will be missing this fixture due to suspension. Keeping that in mind, Hansi Flick will be fully aware of the fact that his team will be lacking some of their usual firepower in attack and midfield, but he will still need to find a way here.
