Gi Fernandes underwent tests after feeling pain in her left thigh during Corinthians’ 2-2 draw with Fluminense, then reassured supporters she feels fine while awaiting the results.

According to Meu Timao, the right-back was replaced by Letícia Teles on 33 minutes of the first half at Neo Química Arena in the second round of the Brasileirão Feminino.

In a social media post, she said she is well and waiting on the scans, adding she is confident it is nothing serious and thanking fans for their messages.

Despite the optimistic tone, she left the stadium limping. The situation is also relevant to Brazil, with Arthur Elias naming her among eight Corinthians players for the next FIFA window, her first senior call-up.

The others selected are Lelê, Thais Ferreira, Tamires, Duda Sampaio, Ana Vitória, Gabi Zanotti and Jaqueline. Brazil will face Costa Rica, Venezuela and Mexico in friendlies as preparation for the 2027 Women’s World Cup in Brazil.

Corinthians will also have representatives in other national teams, 11 in total. Belén Aquino has been called by Uruguay for two friendlies against Ecuador at Chubb Arena in Quito on 4 and 7 March.

Gisela Robledo has been named by Colombia for the SheBelieves Cup, opening against Canada on 1 March in Tennessee, then facing Argentina on 4 March in Columbus, before playing the United States on 7 March in Harrison, New Jersey.

Because of the FIFA window, Corinthians return on 13 March to face Palmeiras at 21:30 at Arena Barueri in round three of the Brasileirão Feminino.
