Gianluca Prestianni floored by Benfica assistant amid jubilant Trubin celebrations

An unusual moment punctuated Benfica’s late joy as Gianluca Prestianni was accidentally knocked over by a Benfica assistant during the celebrations.

According to Glorioso 1904, the incident came moments after the Ukrainian goalkeeper Anatoliy Trubin scored at 90+8 against Real Madrid, a goal that secured Benfica’s place in the UEFA Champions League round-of-16 play-off.

As players, coaches and staff surged to celebrate, Prestianni ran one way while an assistant came from the opposite direction. The staff member slipped and went in two-footed, sending the Argentine to the ground accidentally but forcefully.

Prestianni had already left the pitch with a knock after a challenge with Carreras.

His condition remains to be seen.
