According to AFP, three years after the home-jacking at Gianluigi Donnarumma’s Paris home, two men who were minors at the time were convicted in early July, and three others, including Ilyas Kherbouch, will stand trial in September at the Paris court.

The Italy international and former PSG goalkeeper was struck in the face and tied up during the night of 20-21 July 2023 at his Avenue Montaigne address in the 8th arrondissement. His pregnant partner was bound with cables. The intruders took cash, watches, luxury bags, a phone and car keys, with losses estimated at about €500,000.

A first strand has already been heard by the juvenile court, which convicted two teenagers for their roles. The September hearing will concern the adults, who are accused of theft by trickery, break-in or entry by scaling at a dwelling, unlawful confinement with release before the seventh day, and criminal conspiracy.

Kherbouch, 21, is accused of directing the raid from his prison cell. Detained since he was 14 for multiple aggravated thefts, he escaped from Villepinte prison in March using fake police, and was arrested two weeks later.

The investigating judge has identified a second alleged organiser, Khyan M., 21, who is also said to have issued orders from his cell. A suspected perpetrator will also appear. After the robbery, that man was himself held captive, and investigators found photos of him naked and bloodied on Kherbouch’s phone.

The victims’ lawyers said the violence was incomprehensible and their clients remain deeply shocked. Defence lawyers Sipan Ohanians and Jeanne Audéon said their client reflects a vulnerable youth exploited as cannon fodder for criminal schemes. A sixth man had been arrested but died by suicide in custody after telling investigators he feared reprisals and pressure from the organisers.
