The Mario Gila situation is increasingly tense, with reports Lazio accepted a €25m offer from Atalanta, but the player is waiting for Milan, Napoli or Juventus.

The central defender is out of contract in July 2027 and negotiations for a new deal have been at a standstill for months.

Nonetheless, the Aquile expect at least €25m including add-ons to make the sale this summer and have no shortage of interested clubs.

According to Sportitalia, Atalanta made a proposal worth €22m plus a further €3m in bonuses, and it was accepted by Lazio.

However, the player is not convinced even with the opportunity to reunite with former Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri, as he has his eyes on a bigger club.

Following the Tuttomercatoweb report last night, Sky Sport Italia also confirmed that Milan had contacted Gila’s agent and made a strong push for his signature.

Napoli have been the favourites for some time, but they need to make a sale first and their market is somewhat stuck right now.

Juventus are also keeping a close eye on the situation, although their preferred candidate would be Jhon Lucumi of Bologna at roughly €28m.

Inter too are not out of the running entirely, but seem to have other priorities right now.
