Liverpool kept their perfect start to the Champions League campaign going with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Girona on Tuesday.
A lively affair saw both sides flying forward at every opportunity, with goalkeepers Alisson and Paulo Gazzaniga often taking centre-stage at either end of the pitch, but Liverpool edged themselves ahead on the hour mark when Mohamed Salah banished memories of his penalty miss against Real Madrid by sending the Girona stopper the wrong way from 12 yards.
Girona rejected the underdog tag as they went toe-to-toe with the Premier League leaders for large parts of this game. Former Everton winger Arnaut Danjuma was a significant threat, as was young left-back Miguel Gutierrez, whose performance will have undoubtedly caught the eye of his many rich suitors.
It's now six wins in six for Arne Slot's side, who are sitting pretty at the top of the standings and are enjoying a run of over 500 minutes without conceding a Champions League goal.
