Girona close deal for Aston Villa defender | OneFootball

La Liga outfit Girona have this week tied up a deal for a member of the defensive ranks at Premier League side Aston Villa.

The player in question? Álex Moreno.

Left-back Moreno is for his part currently plying his trade on the books of the aforementioned Aston Villa.

Fresh off a season which saw him largely struggle for playing time during a loan stint with Nottingham Forest, however, the 32-year-old has long been hotly tipped for a return to Spain.

Moreno boasts plenty of experience of La Liga football, having previously spent time on the books of the likes of Mallorca, Rayo Vallecano and Real Betis.

And as alluded to above, if the latest word stemming from the media over the last 24 hours is anything to go by, then a move back to his home country can now be considered as good as done for the experienced defender.

As per a report from market insider Fabrizio Romano, citing information from journalist Nil Solà:

‘Álex Moreno has completed his medical and signs two year deal at Girona.’
