Girona remain in talks with Valencia over Arnau and have lined up Mateu Morey as a possible replacement, though any move is tied to the defender’s sale.

Última Hora reports that Girona are interested in Morey, 26, but have not made an offer, only initial contact with his representatives. As they wait for Valencia to improve their bid, Arnau starts against Leganés this afternoon in the LaLiga Hypermotion opener for both teams.

Despite holding a strong hand in negotiations, Girona have not altered their plan to sell players keen to stay in the top flight, among them Arnau. His deal runs until June 2027, and from next January he would be free to negotiate without a transfer.
