According to Superdeporte, negotiations between Valencia and Girona over Arnau Martínez moved forward on Tuesday 25 August after the offer increased the fixed element rather than variables, a structure that suits the Catalan club.
The Girona captain had given his approval weeks ago, yet the Montilivi side initially kept the door closed amid a post-relegation exodus, with some departures pushing harder than expected of a professional. He has not forced the issue, confident a solution was taking shape.
Recruitment has focused on younger profiles with scope to develop and deliver both sporting and financial upside. Within that strategy, Javier Boñar is viewed as the replacement for Arnau.
Talks for the Atlético de Madrid right-back are described as the most advanced, and Boñar has given his approval. The clubs are negotiating, and his potential has attracted interest from several European teams.
Boñar recently turned 21 and has represented Spain at youth level. He can also operate at centre-back and as a defensive midfielder. He made his LaLiga debut for Diego Simeone’s side last season, played four matches and scored on his debut against Sevilla FC.
