La Liga outfit Girona have been forced to shift their attentions towards other targets, amid confirmation that Federico Redondo has agreed to a move to Major League Soccer.
Youngster Redondo – son of former Real Madrid star Fernando – was recently named as a leading option to reinforce the deep-lying ranks in the middle of the park at high-flying Girona.
This comes with Míchel and co. yet to adequately replace Oriol Romeu, since his departure for Barcelona last summer.
Redondo, widely regarded as one the finest engine room talents in his home country of Argentina, was in turn earmarked as one potential addition with a view to next season.
As alluded to above, though, the Girona brass will now be forced to look elsewhere.
This comes with word having come to the fore that Redondo has reached an agreement to take his talents to Major League Soccer, with Inter Miami.
As per transfer insider Fabrizio Romano:
‘Federico Redondo to Inter Miami, here we go! Deal sealed with Argentinos Juniors after verbal agreement last week as it’s all done for €8m package.’
The 21-year-old, in turn, will imminently link up with fellow countryman Lionel Messi.
Not only that, but he will be afforded the opportunity to hone his craft in the presence of one of world football’s standout ‘pivots’ of the last two decades, in Sergio Busquets.
