Girona pushing for January signing of Celta Vigo star | OneFootball

The board at Girona are pushing hard to tie up a winter deal for a member of the midfield ranks at La Liga rivals Celta Vigo.

The player in question? Fran Beltrán.

Midfielder Beltran has for his part long been tipped for an upcoming departure from Celta Vigo.

Such an exit was expected to come in the summer, upon the expiration of the Spaniard’s contract terms at Balaídos.

As alluded to above, though, if the latest word stemming from the media late this week is anything to go by, then Beltran’s transfer could be fast-tracked to this month.

Girona have long been expressing a keen interest in the 26-year-old, at the express request of manager Míchel.

And as per a report from Carrusel Deportivo:

‘Girona speeds up to close the arrival of Fran Beltrán this January! The footballer ends his contract in June, but the intention is to close it now. Optimism in the Catalan club regarding the operation.’
