According to Football Italia, ex-Juventus and Napoli director Cristiano Giuntoli has reached an agreement to become Atalanta sporting director next season, with an official announcement expected in the coming days.

He had been viewed as the leading candidate to succeed Tony D'Amico in 2026-27, and an agreement is said to be in place.
