Borussia Monchengladbach captain Lars Stindl insists they can hold their heads high after defeat to Champions League opponents Manchester City.
Gladbach lost home and away in their round of 16 tie.
But Stindl insist: "We played against one of the best teams in the world, and we created few chances because they were once again incredibly good.
"We still had a few chances, which we didn't manage to realise. They were better than us over the one hundred and eighty minutes: they leave you neither the time nor the space to think about the game."
Gladbach goalkeeper Jurgen Sommer, meanwhile, also said: "It may seem silly to say, but it is not easy to play against a team like Manchester City. However, I am proud of this team: having reached the second round should not be overshadowed by two defeats."
