Go Ahead Eagles assistant coach arrested in bar incident following victory over Heracles | OneFootball

After a fantastic 2024/2025 campaign, Go Ahead Eagles have struggled this season. The side are in a relegation battle but did enjoy a European campaign. This weekend past they faced fellow strugglers Heracles, a game the side won. They decided to celebrate in Deventer after the match, although assistant coach Rick Adjei didn’t cover himself in glory. As reported by ESPN, Adjei was arrested following an incident at a bar. Not much as been said of what took place, but the club have released a statement saying they regret the incident. Reports suggest that the assistant coach didn’t ‘fully cooperate’ with the police.

The victory for Go Ahead Eagles see’s them open up a gap to the bottom three of four points. With a game against Excelsior next up, the side will hope they can beat another relegation rival to really begin to put some distance between themselves and danger.

However, fans will also likely wonder why the assistant coach was celebrating in such a manner, given that they have struggled this season and a win over Heracles was to be expected.
