Marcus Thuram's France had the best possible conclusion to their international window, in which they played a series of friendlies in the USA ahead of the World Cup. After the 2-1 win against Brazil in Foxborough, Les Bleus beat Colombia by three goals to one at the Northwest Stadium in Landover, the home ground of the Washington Commanders.
Marcus Thuram was one of the key figures in France's win. Didier Deschamps named him in the starting XI, and he had a hand in all of France's goals. In the 29th minute, Thuram made Doué's opener possible with a cross into the box for the PSG striker, aided by a clever dummy by Cherki, which caught the defence off guard. In the 41st minute, Thuram doubled France's lead with a great header from Akliouche's cross. After the break, Thuram also assisted the third goal, setting up Doué again. In the 77th minute, Colombia pulled one back through Campaz. One minute later, Thuram made way for Mbappé.
That was the end of France's international window for March; Les Bleus will get back to it in June when they start prep for World Cup 2026.
