Markus Högner welcomed back two returning players to the matchday squad: Celina Baum and Sara Ito. Since the match against Deutz 05 came too soon for Paula Reimann, who is still recovering from an Achilles tendon injury, Frederike Kempe took over as captain. Compared to the previous match against Recklinghausen, Rita Schumacher also returned to the starting IX, replacing Emilia Pauls.

The match From the outset, the Borussia players implemented their coach's instructions (“stressing the opponent”) on the pitch. Annika Enderle registered the first shot on goal in the very first minute. Just a minute later, she found the net: After a pass from the left wing by Jasmin Jabbes, Enderle fired the ball into the far right corner for an early lead. Against a Deutz side pressed deep into their own half, Marina Scholz had the next opportunity (6). Just five minutes later, it was indeed 2-0: After a rebound off the crossbar (a chance for Enderle), the unfortunately positioned Sarah Rosenthal scored an own goal.

With plenty of attacking intent and numerous corner kicks, the BVB women pressed for more goals. This paid off in the 20th minute when, after a precise cross from Rita Schumacher, Melanie Schuster was able to slot the ball home from the centre of the penalty area. It was her first goal for BVB. The one-sided game continued, with Frederike Kempe making it 4-0 after a corner from Schumacher, and Enderle again finding herself all alone in front of goalkeeper Lisa Brenner to extend the lead to 5-0 at halftime.

In the second half, the 2,015 fans at Rote Erde Stadium didn't have to wait long for the next goal: Borussia Dortmund immediately established themselves in the opposition's penalty area and in the 49th minute Ronja Leubner scored the 6-0, firing home from just under 17 metres after a fine pass from Enderle. With this comfortable lead, the Black and Yellows eased off the pressure somewhat and several substitutions and two injury stoppages for the opposition slowed the pace of the game.

But the stands at Strobelallee were about to erupt one more time. Following a superb cross from Celina Baum, Rita Schumacher scored the 7-0, putting the finishing touch on a remarkably mature team performance.
