Telstar 2-2 Cambuur in Velsen-Zuid as goalkeeper Ronald Koeman scored two penalties, the second in the 11th minute of second half stoppage time, to rescue a point and end Cambuur's four-match league losing run.
Nökkvi Þórisson was sent off in the 22nd minute.
After the restart, Rafik El Arguioui swept in from close range (53.) and Nicolas Binder added a second with a low finish (60.). Koeman pulled one back from the spot after Patrick Brouwer was fouled (63.). El Arguioui is now on four Eredivisie goals, joint second in the scoring chart.
A VAR check first rejected a Telstar penalty appeal (90.). Moments later, substitute Mathieu Maertens handled in the box and VAR confirmed the spot kick in second half stoppage time. Koeman converted again to level the score.
Cambuur had 57.5% possession and registered eight attempts. Telstar produced 12 attempts, hitting the target twice.
Next, Telstar visit FC Twente. Cambuur host NEC Nijmegen.
