Gonzalo Plata called up by Ecuador for March friendlies against Morocco and Netherlands

Ecuador have named Gonzalo Plata in a 26-man squad for March friendlies as they step up World Cup preparations. According to Coluna Do Fla, the Flamengo winger is among those selected.

Ecuador face Morocco on 27 March, then the Netherlands on 31 March, both before their World Cup campaign in the United States.

The CBF has set Flamengo v Red Bull Bragantino for 1 April as a base date. If the fixture falls in that window, Flamengo would be without Plata.

Elsewhere, Brazil have called Léo Pereira, Alex Sandro and Danilo. Carrascal has been named by Colombia, while Arrascaeta, Varela and De La Cruz are expected to feature in Uruguay’s list.

Plata remains available for Flamengo’s trip to Corinthians on Sunday 22 at 20:30 Brasília time at Neo Química Arena in the eighth round of the Campeonato Brasileiro. The match will be shown on CazéTV on YouTube and on Premiere pay-per-view.
