Bayern Munich are ‘monitoring’ Kevin Schade ahead of the summer transfer window.

However, the Brentford winger is not considered a high-priority target for decision-makers at Säbener Straße as things currently stand.

The 24-year-old has registered seven goals and three assists in 30 games (across all competitions) this term.

Kevin Schade is not high priority for Bayern Munich

Similar to Yan Diomande at RB Leipzig, Schade is considered potentially too expensive in Munich.

“It is TRUE: Bayern Munich are monitoring Kevin Schade. However, it’s not true that he’s high up on the shortlist,” Falk exclusively confirmed with CF Bayern Insider.

“It’s a similar case to Diomande in the sense that he’s too expensive. I heard from Brentford’s side that they would start the poker at €70m [£60.3m]. This is too much. Perhaps they know it’s too much, and in the end, they won’t get this kind of money for him.

“There are so many Brentford rumours at the moment. Also, the striker, Igor Thiago, was linked to Bayern, but the club isn’t searching for this kind of player. But they are looking for a player like Schade.”

The footballer is closer to the profile FC Bayern are looking at, being 24 years of age – and significantly younger than first-choice Luis Diaz.

However, the cost has to justify the signing’s potential positioning in the hierarchy. The Colombian international is the clear starter for Bayern Munich; whoever comes in this summer will be his understudy.

Better news for Chelsea and Tottenham

In better news for Premier League outfits Chelsea and Tottenham, Bayern’s lack of involvement clears a path to a transfer this summer.

Christian Falk went on to add: “Bayern Munich are monitoring his situation, but it would be too difficult to sign him for this kind of money.

“So, it’s good for Chelsea, it’s good for Tottenham (I heard he’s on the list there as well).

“For Bayern, it would be interesting, given he’s a German player who could be involved with the national team, perhaps even for the upcoming World Cup if he’s lucky. But for the time being, Bayern don’t have him down as their number one target.”

And we can see the appeal in making a signing like Kevin Schade in the English top-flight.

Ranked amongst his positional peers in the Premier League, the German is a threat to be reckoned with in front of goal. Not to mention a combative force in Brentford’s first line of defence.

Schade very much has the look of a player who’s about to take the next big leap in his personal development.

It’s a shame it probably won’t happen at Bayern.
