Gabri Veiga has avoided serious injury after going off in the first half of Porto's 3-1 win over Benfica.

The midfielder opened the scoring at Estádio do Dragão on Sunday, then was substituted in the first half, with Inbeom Hwang coming on and also scoring.

According to O Jogo, a Monday assessment showed only a strain in his right thigh, with discomfort but nothing more serious. Veiga, named I Liga's best player in August, will receive treatment for a few days.

Francesco Farioli has given the squad a week off, making use of an unusually long international break. Veiga will rest once the initial treatment is completed.

Injured players João Costa, Zaidu, Nehuén Pérez, André Miranda and Seko Fofana will continue their recovery work at Olival during the break.
