FIGC President Gabriele Gravina insists the Italian Federation has ‘taken time’ to decide on a new coach: ‘It’s not a problem of names, we must put together a project.’
FIGC President Gravina spoke to reporters at Coverciano on Thursday after an event organised by Serie B Femminile.
Obviously, the main talking point was the future Italian coach for which Gennaro Gattuso appears to be the favourite.

“There is no meeting today, and I say this with absolute clarity. We have taken time to reflect, not on one name. It’s not a problem of names,” Gravina told reporters via TMW.
“We have time available, so we must put together a project that we can then bring into reality and determine whether it can be carried forward.”

Claudio Ranieri was the priority FIGC option to replace Spalletti, but the 73-year-old rejected the chance to become the new Italy coach.
Stefano Pioli was another name linked with the job, but the ex-Milan coach has already reached a verbal agreement with Fiorentina.
