Inter and Grêmio begin deciding the Gauchão 2026 title on Sunday at 18:00 at the Arena, the Gre-Nal 450. The return is set for next Sunday at 18:00 at Beira-Rio.

According to Globo.com, a panel of analysts compared the rivals position by position before the first leg. Grêmio expect Arthur to return and hope Tetê, Willian and Monsalve can also be involved after injuries, while Inter anticipate Victor Gabriel’s availability.

In goal, the panel unanimously preferred Weverton to Rochet, citing Rochet’s recent errors. At right-back, all five backed Bruno Gomes over João Pedro.

At centre-back, Mercado was favoured ahead of Balbuena, with both defences viewed as problem areas. Wagner Leonardo versus Victor Gabriel produced a split call, with a narrow edge to the Grêmio defender, though Victor Gabriel was praised for fewer mistakes this year. On the left, opinions were divided between the attacking thrust of Bernabei and the balance of Marlon.

In midfield, Noriega edged Ronaldo in a close debate. Arthur was a unanimous pick over Paulinho, despite recognition that he is still searching for top rhythm.

Out wide on the right, current form led most to choose Vitinho over Tetê, although Tetê’s talent was highlighted. In the No 10 role, Alan Patrick was unanimously rated above Willian.

On the left, Carbonero drew most votes ahead of Amuzu. Up front, Carlos Vinícius was a clear choice over Borré, even with Borré having starred in the last Gre-Nal.
