Tempers flared in the Gre-Nal Gauchão final as Luís Castro and Paulo Pezzolano argued after Internacional left-back Bernabei was sent off, with both coaches shown yellow cards.

According to Globo.com, Pezzolano was speaking to Pavon on the touchline, protesting the dismissal, when the Grêmio coach approached, grabbed his shirt and moved him away from the Grêmio player.

The Portuguese appeared annoyed that the Uruguayan was addressing an opponent. A brief exchange followed, with irritation on both sides, as Kannemann and Weverton stepped in to hold Castro and try to pull him out of the melee.

At one stage, the Grêmio boss also turned towards Inter players, including Tabata.

The two coaches had appeared together on Friday at a Federação Gaúcha de Futebol event, where captains Arthur and Alan Patrick joined them for a joint interview to promote the final.
