Marseille claimed a precious 1-0 win at Le Havre on Sunday night, settled by a second-half penalty from Mason Greenwood. It was their first victory since 10 April and it nudged them up to sixth.

L'Équipe notes that the pair were Marseille's driving forces in a fraught week. Greenwood remained a threat and contributed defensively, while Geronimo Rulli’s sharp work underpinned the result.

Early on, Rulli saved from Samatta in the seventh minute. He stayed alert on a messy move just before the break, even as an offside was flagged on 44 minutes. For Le Havre, Fodé Doucouré’s errant pass on 38 minutes invited pressure.

After the restart, Ayumu Seko was booked for a foul on Gouiri on 47 minutes. Six minutes later, Lucas Gourna-Douath handled a Greenwood free-kick and the resulting penalty on 55 minutes proved decisive.

Le Havre had their chance to level when Facundo Medina tripped Sofiane Boufal and a penalty was awarded on 71 minutes. Boufal struck the bar, Soumaré headed the rebound and Rulli clawed it away.

Quinten Timber struggled to influence play and Medina endured shaky moments, though Marseille held firm. Seko was Le Havre’s most assured defender, while Boufal and Doucouré toiled without end product.
