Grêmio honour Coritiba for support during 2024 floods before Arena meeting

Grêmio paid tribute to Coritiba before Sunday’s match at the Arena, presenting a framed shirt to thank them for help during the floods two years ago.

According to Globo.com, it was the first meeting between the sides since Couto Pereira hosted Grêmio as the home side in 2024.

The club’s president, Odorico Roman, handed the gift to Coritiba executive William Thomas in the mixed zone.

The frame included a shirt with the number 2024 on the back and a note expressing gratitude for Coritiba’s welcome during one of the most difficult moments in Grêmio’s history.

Roman said the gesture recognised Coritiba’s support at a very difficult time and that it was only right to mark their gratitude, adding that the club wanted to leave a formal record of thanks.
