Grêmio are close to confirming the departure of midfielder Camilo, with a move to Chapecoense in advanced talks. Chapecoense will play Série A next year.

According to Gremistas.net, Camilo has been out of the club’s plans for next season and recent conversations with his representative set the terms of his exit.

With his contract running until December 2027, the move is likely to be a loan.

His departure forms part of a wider overhaul led by the new board, aiming to free salary space and align monthly costs with next year’s finances.

Grêmio have already green-lit exits for Cristian Olivera on loan to Bahia and Matias Arezo on loan to Peñarol. Alex Santana and Enzo have left at the end of their contracts, Alysson has been sold to Aston Villa, and João Lucas has joined Remo on loan.

Camilo also attracted outside interest, including a possible switch to Juarez in Mexico, which did not materialise.

The squad’s monthly cost reached R$ 21 million by the end of this year. The new leadership is targeting around R$ 18 million, already factoring in reinforcements at the start of 2026.
