Grêmio have promised the greatest possible mobilisation for their Copa do Brasil quarter-final Gre-Nal, with the first leg at Beira-Rio and the return at the Arena.

The ties are slated for the weeks of 26 August and two September, with exact dates and kick-off times to be set by the CBF. Rafael Lima, the club’s vice-president of football, attended the draw at CBF headquarters in Rio de Janeiro, according to Globo.com.

Lima described the derby as a special occasion for Rio Grande do Sul that will galvanise the state, and noted the advantage of deciding the tie at home. He called on supporters to fill the Arena for the second leg.

He said Grêmio would organise every effort possible for the two pivotal matches, which he believes will shape the club’s path in the competition.

Grêmio reached the last eight by eliminating Mirassol in the round of 16. They entered in the fifth phase, when they beat Confiança of Sergipe.

The draw also produced Cruzeiro v Atlético-MG, Vasco v Vitória and Palmeiras v Santos.
