Grêmio are accelerating their overhaul after terminating Willian, the 22nd departure, and now aim to move on five players. According to Gremistas.net, the football department has placed the quintet on the market.
Right-back João Pedro has not played since 30 May, when Grêmio faced Corinthians at the Arena, and has been told he can find a new club. His high wages are seen as the main factor in any move.
Fellow full-back Marcos Rocha is also out of the picture. Signed mid last year after leaving Palmeiras, he is currently third choice behind Pavón and Diego Caito, and his deal runs to the end of this year.
Paraguayan international Balbuena is available for transfer. Overtaken by Luís Eduardo in the pecking order, he has not been making squads, and is under contract until mid 2027 while the club await interest.
Midfielder Miguel Monsalve has been removed from the first-team group after rejecting three offers. He is training with the youth set-up at the CFT Presidente Hélio Dourado in Eldorado do Sul, a move described as for technical and squad-composition reasons.
The most complex case is striker Martin Braithwaite, understudy to Carlos Vinicius. He is the highest earner, has indicated he does not intend to leave, and around R$ 25 million in signing-on fees remain from Alberto Guerra’s previous administration.
