Grêmio have confirmed the sale of Arezo to Peñarol after the Uruguayan club exercised a purchase option, with the striker signing until 2029.

According to Globo.com, Peñarol will pay 3.5 million dollars, with 3.1 million split into three annual instalments due in January 2027, 2028 and 2029. The total includes 400,000 dollars charged for renewing his loan from 2025 to 2026.

Grêmio signed Arezo from Granada in July 2024 for 3 million euros, then worth R$ 17 million, for 50% of his rights, with River Plate retaining the remainder.

He made 38 appearances for Grêmio and scored six goals. He never started for the club.

Since joining Peñarol in July 2025, the Uruguayan centre-forward has become a regular starter. He has played 47 games and scored 21 goals.
