Grêmio have sidelined Monsalve from the first-team squad, moving the midfielder out of the senior group.

The club said in a statement that, for technical reasons and squad composition, Miguel Monsalve will now train at the Presidente Hélio Dourado centre in Eldorado do Sul.

He is no longer in the coaching staff’s plans, and Grêmio intend to negotiate his departure. One factor is understood to have been his refusal of recent offers, and the interested clubs were not named.

His last outing was the 23 July defeat away to Bolívar in the Copa Sudamericana. He came on after the break and played 30 minutes.

This year the Colombian has featured in only 13 games, scoring one goal against Juventude in the Gauchão group stage, and registering no assists.
