The World Cup pause gives Grêmio room to sort contracts, with seven players entering the final months of their deals.

According to Globo.com, top scorer Carlos Vinicius is in talks to extend beyond December, with an expectation of a 2028 agreement. His deal also contains an automatic 2027 renewal if he plays at least 60% of 2026 games, which is likely, and the club still want longer.

Amuzu is also up in December and initial contact has been made. He was called by Ghana for pre-World Cup friendlies but was not released as it was not a FIFA date, then missed the final list. Talks over Pavon have begun but are not advanced, and Willian has an option to extend although discussions have yet to start.

There are no talks for Marcos Rocha, Dodi or Caio Paulista. Rocha turns 38 shortly before his December expiry and is now a reserve with Pavon first choice on the right. Dodi has not played since 29 April amid midfield competition, and he and Rocha could move on, while Caio Paulista, 28, on loan from Palmeiras, is unlikely to be retained after slipping behind Pedro Gabriel following Marlon’s injury.

Captain Arthur is the urgent case, his loan ending on 30 June with the situation still open. He wants to stay in Porto Alegre. Juventus, to whom he is contracted until mid-2027, have yet to decide, and a resolution is expected close to the deadline.
