According to Globo.com, Grêmio completed their second day of work during the Fifa break after three days off following the draw with Palmeiras last Sunday, with Renato Portaluppi placing the emphasis on fitness.

Sessions have featured strength, coordination, acceleration and mobility drills. On Friday, a double session included a small-sided technical workout, with the squad split into three teams.

Kannemann and Dodi returned to training after recent physical issues. The defender felt muscular discomfort before the Botafogo match on 16 September, while the midfielder had a right knee injury diagnosed on 19 August.

Full-backs Diego Caito and Marlon remain out of on-pitch work. The club want all four players who entered the break in the treatment room to be ready to feature soon after the Fifa window.

Midfielders Villasanti and Noriega and forward Jovane Cabral are away from Porto Alegre on international duty for friendlies.

Academy players were drafted in at CT Luiz Carvalho, with Renato observing. Under-20 duo Fellipe Magalhães and João Borne trained with the senior group on Friday.

Grêmio train again on Saturday at 10:00 in a single session. Sunday is a rest day, and they return to action on Wednesday seven October against Remo in the 29th round of the Brasileirão.
