Standard Liege have announced that midfielder Sacha Banse is set to join Greuther Fürth in the German 2 Bundesliga. The 23-year-old central midfielder is just the latest player to leave Standard Liege this season as the cash strapped club look to move players on in order to free up spare cash for incoming transfers.
Banse began playing for the sides second team back in 2022, making his debut for the first team in 2023. He leaves having only made six appearances for the Standard first team, two of which came during this season. Last year he was loaned out to French side Valenciennes, where he played 30 games in league and cup, grabbing two assists. Banse is a full international for Burkina Faso, having made his debut in the Africa Cup of Nations in 2023.
Standard are still working on a few incomings, which appear to be dependent on outgoings. Talented defender Nathan Ngoy is expected to join Luton Town, but the transfer fee is likely to help with keeping the club in operation, rather than be reinvested into incoming players.
