Griezmann ‘to stay’ at Atlético Madrid until end of season amid MLS interest

Griezmann has decided to remain at Atlético Madrid until the end of the season, according to L’Equipe. The 2018 World Cup winner has long expressed a desire to play in MLS.

The decision follows concrete offers and talks with Orlando City in the US, but he chose not to leave mid-season.

Opportunities in MLS will reopen then, perhaps not with Orlando.

Orlando City retain priority to sign the former Barcelona forward, while Inter Miami and CF Montreal have added him to their lists to position themselves for a move.

At Atlético there had been hope that progressing to the cup phase in Seville on 18 April would help convince him to stay, and it now appears that will be the case.
