This weekend, Guadalajara belongs to Guadalajara from start to finish. The city was once again completely painted red and white, as the Rebaño Sagrado defeated its archrival in all categories that competed in the Clásico Tapatío. From the U-19s, the U-21s, and even the First Team, Chivas showed pride in a day filled with passion.
Saturday began with a victory for the Under-21s, who came from behind to win 2-1 at home against the Rojinegros, followed by the Under-19s, who won 4-1, and culminated with a grand finale, with the victory of the First Team, who also won 4-1 at the Estadio AKRON to the overwhelming excitement of the entire Rojiblanca Nation.
These results reflect the seriousness and commitment with which Mexico's oldest rivalry is lived in all categories, where Chivas always plays with its heart on its sleeve, leaving everything on the field.
The Rojiblanca youth academy had a perfect weekend, not only because of the victories, but also because of the great soccer they played: in total, 10 goals were scored, 9 of them by home-grown players, reaffirming the great project of Club Deportivo Guadalajara.
Their dominance was evident: the Rebaño scored more than two goals in each game, with outstanding performances from Armando "La Hormiga" González, who scored a hat trick, and Aldrin Mariaca, who scored two goals to seal the victory in the U-19 category. The Rojiblancos imposed their rhythm from start to finish, with four goals before halftime and six more in the second half, allowing just three goals over the entire weekend.
Chivas reaffirmed that the Rebaño rules in Guadalajara and that from the youth teams to the first team, there is the same passion and unwavering commitment to proudly defend Mexico's most beloved jersey.
