Pep Guardiola says he’s unsure if Ederson will be available for Sunday’s FA Cup semi-final with Nottingham Forest.
The goalkeeper hasn’t featured in our last two games after a second-half substitution during the 5-2 victory over Crystal Palace earlier this month.
Stefan Ortega Moreno has deputised excellently for our victories over Everton and Aston Villa and the German remains in contention to start in our seventh successive FA Cup last four tie at Wembley this weekend.
Asked whether Ederson will play against Forest, Guardiola said: “We’ll see.
“Eddie is coming back training a little bit. But I don’t know if he’ll be ready for this game, hopefully the next one.”
The boss was then unequivocal in stating that there are no fresh injury concerns since Tuesday’s dramatic defeat of Villa.
Ballon d’Or winner Rodri hasn’t played since a knee injury last September, but Guardiola says he’s keen to get back on the pitch sooner rather than later.
“Every training session he does with us, he does well,” he said when asked about the possibility of the Spaniard featuring in the remainder this season.
“But I don’t know. Rodri wants [to play] but the doctor will have to say ‘Pep you have green light to give him minutes.’
“I want to rely on the doctors in that case.”
Meanwhile, there was also positive news about Haaland with the boss stating the Norwegian is improving day by day.
Although he did insist there's no return date proposed yet for our No.9.
“He feels better. I said before I don’t know when," he said.
“It’s not a comfortable injury. You have some twist in your ankle and then taping.
“It’s not comfortable. He’s not a small guy but he’s getting better step by step. Still, he doesn't train with the team but we will see how he does.”
