Forced to swallow the disappointment of his side conceding a late equaliser in their 1-1 draw with Chelsea, Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola is now fretting about the fitness of central defensive duo Josko Gvardiol and Rúben Dias.
Croatian defender Gvardiol left the pitch in the 51st minute and needed the assistance of his teammates - and Reece James - following a clash with Malo Gusto and was unable to continue.
Portuguese centre-back Dias, meanwhile, was replaced by Nathan Aké at the 81st minute and left the field in significant discomfort. At the end of the match, Guardiola commented both injuries and revealed considerable concern.
"I haven't spoken to the doctor yet, but Rúben is out because he felt something. We'll see tomorrow, but it doesn't look good for either Gvardiol or Rúben," stated the Spanish coach.
"Did you see our bench today? Four academy players, and now there will be even more. We don't have players. After what happened last season, if we stay strong, we will find solutions. If there is motivation, we will be there to fight."
City are currently in second place in the Premier League table, six points behind leaders Arsenal.
