Pep Guardiola says Ruben Dias will miss more than a month with a hamstring injury in another injury blow for Manchester City.

It comes after Josko Gvardiol suffered a fractured leg against Chelsea on Sunday, abd is now set to have surgery.

John Stones, meanwhile, has missed the last six matches with a thigh injury, and Dias was brought off injured in the 81st minute of Sunday’s draw because of a hamstring injury.

Guardiola gave fitness updates on all of them ahead of City’s match against Brighton this week.

“Dias has a hamstring injury, out for four or six weeks,” he said.

When asked about Stones the Spaniard answered: “No idea, he’s not ready for the next games.”

The Spaniard was then asked about Ake and provided some good news, saying: “He’s fine.”

However, he then confirmed Josko Gvardiol will be “out for a long time”

Despite all these injuries Guardiola believes his City side will still be able to compete with the players they still have fit.

“You knew it before you asked me every single player, you knew it, right?” he said.” As I told you, everybody knows it. We have Khusanov and Nathan back as centre-defenders.

“Max (Alleyne) came back from the loan at Watford, Omar Marmoush and Rayan Cherki are at AFCON…. Jeremy [Doku] and Rodri have come back from a long time, so that’s the situation. That’s good.”

“With the spirit that we have, we can always cope.”

‘Maybe we’ll get someone, but it’s completely different,” he said. “We are not going to buy four or five players that happened last season, to be the best transfer spend net in this country. We are not, but apparently we always are.
