Guatemala bows out at FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup

MIAMI — The FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Seychelles 2025™ continued Monday, as Guatemala closed its debut campaign with a 12-3 loss to Belarus in Group A at The Paradise Arena in Victoria, Seychelles.
With goals from Pablo Crocker in the 10’ 3P, Erick Montepeque in the 9’ 3P, and Berny Marroquin in the 7’ 3P, Los Chapines closed its participation with a record of one win and two defeats and a third-place finish in its group.
Crocker and Montepeque scored their first goals at a FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup. Marroquin scored his second in the tournament after striking Guatemala’s debut goal in the opener.
Miguel González departs as the top scorer for Guatemala with five goals, including a four-goal performance in the team’s previous match, to open the nation’s all-time scoring chart at the Beach Soccer World Cup.
Belarus finished first in Group A with three consecutive victories. The Europeans took the lead with goals from Aleh Hapon in the 7’ 1P and Anatoliy Ryabko in the 1’ 1P.
The goals continued with strikes from Ihar Bryshtsel 11’ 2P, Ryabko in the 7’ 2P, Uladzimir Ustsinovich in the 5’ 2P, Vadzim Bokach in the 3’ 2P, Bryshtsel in the 1’ 2P, Bokach in the 11’ 3P, and Bryshtsel once more in the 10’ 3P.
After Guatemala scored three unanswered, Belarus responded with three of its own from Bryshtsel in the 6’ 3P, and Ryabko in the 5’ 3P and 4’ 3P.
Fellow Concacaf nation El Salvador will conclude its campaign in Group D against Italy on Tuesday, seeking a result that will allow it to advance to the knockout round.
