Although it is too early to predict the future, Leeds United must exhibit more flair in the attacking third to retain their Premier League status by the end of the season. They have only scored once in four games when Lukas Nmecha converted from the spot in their late win versus Everton, and it remains to be seen how Daniel Farke fields his frontline on Saturday afternoon in a tricky away test against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Wolves are rock bottom in the league standings, having lost all their fixtures so far this season. They must attempt to secure all three points against the newly promoted Whites, particularly at Molineux, where the home crowd will make it hostile for the visitors.
Lucas Perri’s injury is a major blow for Leeds United, with the Brazilian custodian set to be sidelined for weeks due to a thigh injury sustained in training. Illan Meslier is back in the matchday squad, but the former ‘number 1’ is expected to continue as the understudy to Karl Darlow between the sticks.

Although the West Yorkshire giants have brought in James Justin, Jaka Bijol, Sebastiaan Bornauw and Gabriel Gudmundsson, only the latter has secured a starting status early into the campaign. Despite scoring an injury-time own goal against Fulham that led to a painful defeat at Craven Cottage, the Sweden international must keep his place over Sam Byram down the left. Except for their dreadful 5-0 defeat against Arsenal, Joe Rodon and Pascal Struijk have shown resilience and composure in the heart of the backline. Jayden Bogle has balanced his game between defence and attack while featuring from the right.
Farke has preferred a three-man midfield, but utilised Anton Stach’s creativity to shift to a 4-2-3-1 during the game. The presence of Ethan Ampadu at the base would allow both Satch and Sean Longstaff to be adventurous and operate in the advanced areas of the pitch. The summer arrival of the ‘number 8’ pair has pushed Ilia Gruev and Ao Tanaka down the pecking order. However, the German boss could deploy them from the bench at some stage in the second half.
Farke has tried different combinations up top. But they are struggling to score goals, primarily due to wastefulness and lack of conversion. Dominic Calvert-Lewin could once again get the nod over Nmecha high up the pitch. Noah Okafor, from the left, needs to show his quality, having completed a high-profile transfer from AC Milan, and the gaffer might opt for Brenden Aaronson, amid the potential injury absence of Daniel James and Wilfried Gnonto. Joel Piroe is likely to make it to the squad and appear as a substitute after recovering from a calf issue.
