According to Diario Vasco, Pellegrino Matarazzo will be without Gonçalo Guedes for Real Sociedad’s visit to Rayo Vallecano in Vallecas on Sunday at 14:00, the 26th. Guedes and Aritz Elustondo missed training in Zubieta, with Elustondo now a doubt.
Caleta-Car can play after the RFEF committee rescinded the yellow he received at Getafe, which would have been his fifth and carried a ban. Zubeldia, Odriozola and Karrikaburu also sat out yesterday’s session, the latter injured on Wednesday.
Guedes played the final with a broken toe and also suffered an ankle sprain during the penalty incident involving Musso. He missed Getafe and any hope of making this weekend has gone, he must wait at least eight more days.
Elustondo was withdrawn at half-time against Getafe after a concussion sustained in an aerial fall and a heavy blow to his back. He has recovered from the concussion, which enabled six changes, but back pain persists, so he will try to make it.
Karrikaburu sprained his ankle moments after coming on for his first chance under Matarazzo. He finished the match in obvious pain and will not feature in Vallecas.
Yangel Herrera has been training separately under his recovery plan, he will rejoin tomorrow and will have no problem being in the squad. With Zubeldia still not ready, if Elustondo does not recover Luken Beitia will provide cover and Jon Martín and Caleta-Car will form the centre, while Elustondo could also slot in at full-back or centrally if fit.
