Milan Primavera head coach Federico Guidi was thrilled with the performance of his side this afternoon as they beat Empoli 4-1 at the PUMA House of Football.

After losing to Genoa in the game before the international break there was some added pressure to return to winning ways, and Milan responded brilliantly. Goals from Filippo Scotti, Max Ibrahimovic and Dariusz Stalmach had the Rossoneri 3-0 up at the break, then Scotti got his brace in the second half.

Guidi spoke to reporters after the game to reflect on what was a brilliant performance and result from his team, with his comments relayed by MilanNews.

How do you feel after the win?

“I’m absolutely satisfied, it was a good reaction to the mistakes we made. Being able to understand where you went wrong and then show up at the restart of the season with the awareness of what needed to be done is synonymous with intelligence.

“The boys understood and put in a performance that brought this result. I ask them to stay focused on the performance and through the performance get a positive result. Today it went like this and we’re happy.”

The Youth League will start on Tuesday…

“It’s a great feeling. I’ve never played in this competition, I was lucky enough to have international experience with the young national teams, but this will be my baptism in the Youth League.

“There is strong motivation and great curiosity to try to bring what we believe in against opponents with different ideas and different ways of playing. There is a lot of curiosity, this is the emotion I feel inside and that I will try to transmit to my staff and my players.”
