Guido Rodríguez is set to become a Valencia player on a deal to 30 June 2026 after undergoing a medical in Valencia. According to Superdeporte, the West Ham midfielder arrived on Sunday and is due to sign before joining training later today.
He visited the IMED hospital on Monday morning for checks, then plans to put pen to paper. He is scheduled to work this afternoon at Paterna under Carlos Corberán.
Speaking outside the hospital, he said everything was fine and he was happy, noting there had been calls to make the move happen and that the next step was tests. He added that many notable Argentines have played for Valencia and he is pleased to join a club with that history.
At the airport, he said he was delighted to join Valencia and La Liga, that he had held several conversations with Corberán, and that he comes to contribute and meet the group. He described his short contract as simply how deals work, grateful it could be completed after a collective push, adding that nothing is certain until you sign.
Valencia believe there is time in the coming months to discuss an extension, aiming to convince him with the sporting project and a status in line with his role.
He has already looked at the calendar and views a possible debut against Betis as special. The move has been worked on for weeks and follows an express request from Corberán for an experienced midfielder. He joins winter arrivals Umar Sadiq and Unai Núñez in a bid to raise the team’s level.
