Not every youngster gets to shine at FC Barcelona as much as others do. It is considered crucial for them to make the most of the initial opportunities that come their way, or else they might just fall behind. Over the years, irrespective of talent, several Barcelona gems have failed to establish themselves.

Due to this unfortunate reality, it makes no sense for them to stay at the Catalan club. Now, depending on how the preseason tour progresses, that same fate could potentially be in store for another Barcelona talent.

17-year-old Guille Fernandez, a close friend and cousin of Toni Fernandez, is now looking at the same crossroads. As per SPORT, his camp will sit down with the club after the preseason tour to discuss his future prospects and decide what direction to take with him.

While the priority is to develop and succeed at Barcelona, there are also realistic alternatives to consider. A potential loan move to guarantee minutes, or possibly even a permanent deal that will allow him to develop, are both options that have not been discarded.

In fact, the report claims that clubs such as FC Porto, Borussia Dortmund, and others remain interested in the Barcelona gem. However, at least for now, Barça Atletic seems to be in a position where the technical level might be too low for him, and he might not yet be fully ready to get consistent opportunities in the first team.
