If Serhou Guirassy leaves Borussia Dortmund this summer, a Saudi move looks unlikely, with the striker leaning towards staying in top-level European football, Bild claims.

After sounding out the Saudi market, several factors are understood to be in play. Spending by Saudi clubs has eased compared with recent years. Their transfer window opens on 22 July, while European squads are already being shaped, and Guirassy is thought to prefer earlier clarity.

Aston Villa and Fenerbahçe currently appear among the likeliest destinations if he does move. Dortmund, however, have stated publicly that they want to keep him.

“We have no intention of letting him leave. He has proven his value to Borussia Dortmund impressively over the last two seasons,” said BVB managing director for sport Lars Ricken recently.

Guirassy, 30, is under contract at Dortmund until 2028.
