Serhou Guirassy scored the only goal as Guinea edged Kenya in Conakry, sealing their first points of the AFCON qualifiers.

The Borussia Dortmund striker struck around the half-hour in a hard-fought contest. According to BuLi News, Guinea are not in action again until November’s international break.

The former French youth international, aged 30, completed 90 minutes in Guinea’s opening qualifiers against South Africa and Kenya.

Guinea sit second in Group D behind the invincible South Africa. East African neighbours Kenya and Eritrea have one point each. The top two will automatically qualify for the 2027 AFCON in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.

Guirassy has begun the 2026/27 season with four goals and two assists for Dortmund. The Black and Yellows have a perfect Bundesliga record and have also won their first matches in both cups.

Niko Kovac’s side will host Werder Bremen when the Bundesliga returns on the ninth of October after a three-week break.
