Gustavo Gómez is set to reach 385 appearances for Palmeiras on Sunday against Botafogo-SP in the sixth round of the Campeonato Brasileiro, moving clear in fourth on the club’s 21st century list.
He currently shares that spot with Raphael Veiga on 384. According to Nosso Palestra, it will also be the first match without Veiga, with talks advanced over a loan to América-MEX.
Signed in 2018, the Paraguay international has become a leader and mainstay of the side. In the 21st century ranking he trails only Dudu, Weverton and Marcos.
Entering 2026, he has logged the most minutes by any outfield player worldwide since 2020, with 319 games and 28,194 minutes across the 2020 to 2025 seasons. That places him ahead of Bruno Fernandes on 27,634 minutes in 327 games, Otamendi on 26,791 in 304, and Harry Kane on 25,680 in 309.
Gómez has won 12 trophies with Palmeiras, alongside Weverton, Marcos Rocha, Mayke, Dudu, Ademir da Guia and Junqueira. He is also the club’s highest-scoring centre-back with 43 goals, ahead of Luís Pereira on 36, and the foreigner with the most appearances, ahead of Arce and Valdivia on 241.
